Project Grant Support

To Donate to support Project Grants or any other Unity Women’s Desk Programs

Approximately 20% of contributions that are not designated for a specific use are reserved for project grants. These grants help underwrite various activities that support the needs and development of Moravian women and girls around the world. In the past we have funded:

  • Training seminars for Provincial Coordinators and Women’s Secretaries
  • Training seminars on AIDS.
  • Development of a pastoral training course on domestic violence
  • Health care and layette kits (many congregations donate supplies for kits but the shipping is expensive)
  • Moravian women’s conferences in various locations (including the first All-Africa Moravian Women’s Conference, the first Female Pastors and Evangelists Conference in Tanzania)
  • These conferences are very important opportunities for women, particularly in countries where they struggle to get a voice in church leadership.  The UWD does not set the agenda or plan the conferences; we simply support programs the local women identify as important for women in their congregations and communities.
